Marriage proposals!

Come on, guys. I know some of you are married. How'd you do it? How'd you pop the big question??
Was it where you had your first kiss?
Your first date?
Some completely new place to make a completely new memory?
Do you remember what you said?

Also!
If you have any spectacular ideas for a proposal, do share!! I've been YouTubing a lot lately finding some pretty awesome proposals, but it's always nice to be able to discuss with someone about some of them! :)

EDIT: Also, how would you love to be proposed to? (girls or guys)

I proposed once to a girl back a few years ago. Nothing special, unfortunately.

I don't really remember where we were, but I just randomly asked the question and she said yes. :p

I doubt a girl would ever propose to me, but if I proposed to someone again it'd be special. I wouldn't settle for a boring proposal. That's partly why getting to know the person so well is great, because then you can make that one moment extremely special and catered to their liking.

As for personal preference, I kind of like smaller, more intimate proposals instead of the flashy, huge scenes some people make. But if my bride-to-be was that kind of person, I wouldn't hesitate to make it as big as possible.

I'm getting married next month, [WOOOO!], and Mine wasn't anything special hah. We've been together for nearly 7 years and have a 3 year old daughter.

We'd been engaged previously, (its a long story as to why that is), and this time around we both decided we were ready and in the right place for it, so I asked her if she'd marry me........again hah.

We marry in just under a months time, and its nothing to over the top, but it's going to be nice. The crazy over the top proposals are nice and everything, but for a guy like me who would melt under intense pressure, I don't think I could do a mass organized dance or sing her favourite song whilst a mariachi band plays in the back ground.

Not really a proposal but this woman asked me if I could marry her once so she could get nationalised as a British citizen...

I said no, but was tempted to make it a "f*** off." I was only 18 at the time as well

so anyway while I think some proposals can be really cool, many of them can end up being cheesy and cliché, and I'm not a fan of cliché. for instance, you get guys who tell restaurant staff to hide the ring in a piece of cake or w/e so during dessert, the woman finds it and is like "squeel what is this?"
"well, mary-jane, it's been a while now and i know i used chloroform on you when we first met, but will you marry me?"
"oh bob jr iv I thought you'd never ask. YES"

etc

I was thinking you have the ring encased in something a bit more sturdy so that it's swallowed whole, but not big enough that the woman chokes. the next day when nature calls, it comes out of her and she's wondering "what the f*** is that..." because the food it's been encased in has been broken down. so she comes out the bathroom and is all like "bob jr iv what the f*** is this?"
"will you marry me?"

oh and congratulations, speedotrunks!

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

Congrats Speedotrunks! I can imagine embarrassing myself greatly if I ever proposed to a girl. And Buuberries... brilliant idea. I'm going to have to try that.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I would like to be proposed to by a woman, just generally.
Sucks that's it's still the sort of thing that men do more >.>

I've fantasied about marrying a couple of people but the furthest I've ever got is asking if marriage is where they'd like the relationship to end up years down the line.

It's never been met with a good response...
Is it not good for guys to care about their future with someone <_<

Steve, that's not a bad thing at all. I think it's nice when guys think about something other than sex, games, and girls.

I proposed to my wife in Santa Clarita, CA, under a natural rock bridge in the shallows of the ocean. It was not the place of a first kiss or anything, but we did go there like a year prior and really loved the area. I took note of my wife's fondness for the place, and it really is just BEAUTIFUL.

We also had our engagement shots taken there, here is the bridge I proposed to her under:

Technically my first "kiss" was the summer of my 11th year, can't remember if it was the carpool hag who had a weird crush on me that seemed to surpass a feminine adoration of youngin's or some random playful thing.

Actual kiss came 'bout 2 years later but it's an experience I'd rather forget (think of doing it with a hooker in her 30's, only she has it w/o contraceptives and doesn't ever do tests, only she is much younger and immature).

I've never proposed to anyone.
